Jesse La Force has been fishing since he was a kid, sixteen years of it on the Russian River, and has guided Ardent Angling since 2019. He works out of Guerneville, across Lake Sonoma, the Russian, and the local Sonoma County water.

Lake Sonoma carries the warm months with fly and spinning gear, and the Russian turns on for winter steelhead. He fishes the river end to end, following clean water.

Centerpin is where his reputation was built and it is still what he is known for, but the boat runs fly and spin just as often. Clients call him methodical: he works the water that holds fish and talks through the read as he goes, so a first trip is a normal booking rather than a problem. Teaching is what he does off the water too, as a teaching pastor at Lighthouse Christian Church.
